Roof cleaning in Sale
Sale has everything from big Victorian villas near the town centre and Brooklands to rows of 1930s semis in Sale Moor and newer homes towards Sale Water Park. What they share is the damp air of the Mersey valley and the Bridgewater Canal, and a lot of mature trees. Perfect conditions for moss.

Sale is a proper town in its own right. The 2021 Census put the built-up area at 62,550 people, in around 28,000 households. Most people here own their home, about 70% between those who own outright and those with a mortgage, and semis are the most common house type at 43%.
Sale grew with the railway. The line arrived in 1849 and the population more than tripled by 1900, which is why there are so many Victorian and Edwardian terraces, semis and villas. Then came big inter-war semi estates, and later homes from the 1970s to the 1990s. Trafford's own design guide describes the typical Sale house as red brick with sandstone details and a roof of blue slate or red clay tiles.
Two conservation areas protect the oldest streets: Brogden Grove, and Ashton upon Mersey around Church Lane. There is green space everywhere, from Worthington Park (1900) and Walton Park (1939) to Sale Water Park, which started life as a gravel pit dug for the M60 and opened in 1980. Add the Mersey on the northern edge and the Bridgewater Canal, which reached Sale in 1765, and you have a lot of trees and a lot of damp air.

Everything that comes off the roof ends up in the gutters, so we empty them and check every downpipe runs clear.

A professional DDAC biocide is soft washed over every tile. It kills the spores that are left so the moss does not come back, and it is what our 2-year guarantee rests on.

Paths, drives and drains are swept and washed down, the bags go in the van, and you get before and after photos.

Yes, once it has dried. We wet and cover delicate plants, apply it at low pressure onto the roof only, and ask you to keep pets inside while it goes on.
